Orienteering race 51:59 [5] *** 7.3 km (7:07 / km) +210m 6:14 / km
spiked:9/11c

Askham Fell, CSC Round. Blue course with Quentin starting 4 mins after me. Two long uphill legs to start - I managed to catch my 2 minute man at the first control but Q caught me at #2. Made a slight mistake in the circle and he was away and although saw him exit #3 and approach #4 that was the last I saw of him. Took lots of compass bearings and felt I wasn't running too badly although tired on last big climb into #8. Map strange around penultimate control - cost me 30secs but others many minutes. Clear blue skies with lots of sunshine although cold. Lakeland won and qualified for Final on Sept 30th.

Run hills 1:10:00 [3]

Decided needed a harder session. Out with Will and Adam. Usual Bigland/Haverthwaite loop around footpaths. Adam suffering with a sore throat and having to stop regularly on first big climb to Bigland tarn - cut some corners for him. Will n I did full route but lots of stops. Hope to aim for sub-65 on a continuous session . . . maybe next time?

Orienteering 1:00:00 [2]

Bumbling around Stony Hazel in the sunshine putting out mini-kites. Then realised I'd missed one control so ran a second smaller loop a bit quicker.
Felt lethargic.
