White Rose 2 - Rough forest again and again trying to go steady and protect the calf. Caught Steve Kimberley (DVO) 2 minutes half way around and ran a couple of controls together. Then he ran around paths on longish leg and I chose to go direct so I wouldn't race him. He was away and then made a bigger mistake than me at bingo control near end. Finish couple of controls through really shitty rough scratchy forest and cut head and nose. Tired again and glad to be packing up and leaving.
Angus ran well yesterday after shaky start but managed to lose two dibbers inside an hour yesterday - his own on the back of the car and hire one near end of the course. Expensive weekend!

White Rose 1 - Harwood Dale - Tried to hold back throughout to protect right calf. Left eyelid still inflamed so wearing glasses as well to add to the general malaise. Moorland at the start was hard, wood was rough just like I remember the WR. Made a few mistakes near end as I tired. 3km walk back to campsite from the finish and after a brief respite from the rain during first part of the race it poured all the way back.
It had rained all day Friday and wet camping is no fun.
So very tired remainder of day but at least calf ok.

Jog around Birkrigg, Sea Wood & then back over Birkrigg in sunshine.
Calf sore so verrry easy.

Out to Urswick with Katie, then over Birkrigg & back. Drzzly rain & overcast.
Left eyelid still inflamed, left shoulder & bicep sore and right calf stiff - not feeling tip top!

Walk with Katie around Swarthmoor on lovely sunny day.
