Permitted paths through Rusland. Trying to keep working the uphills. Felt right calf after 10mins or so and tried to jog slowly to ease if off. Jogged most of uphill through Ellerside woods but then walked open fell to top. Jogged along ridge and dropped back down to car.
Gramin paused half way around so no accurate data.
Right leg now very sore.

On the bike for first time in a while. Gusty wind of variable direction. Out along coast road, standing in the saddle to try and keep effort up hills.
Out in 40mins, back in 41mins. Very strong head wind all the way back from manjushri.

Kirby Moor reverse. Started up Shooting House Hill and legs still sore so very slow & steady. Track along back Gunson Height steady took a gel before windmills. Hill back up to Out Park a slow grind. Also took in a hail shower for good measure.

Decided on reverse as Next Ness probably flooded, which it was, and I wanted to reduce time with wet feet. Also wind strength reported 46mph!

Road loop, Dalton Gate, Old Hall road, Stonebeck, Mansriggs, down Alpine Road, loop around towards Next Ness and into wind. Tough finish into headwind.

Don't appear to have done this loop since 11th October when I had Harry O'D for company in low 62mins.
2019 saw loops in March of 66:45. June in 66:24 and July in 65:24. Have to try "normal" route out via Next Ness and see if clockwise faster.

Low Wood, Trundle Brow, Low Brow Edge, Bigland woods to Dick Newby Tarn.
Started off cold but clear. Trundle Brow path, Brow Edge road and paths through woods all running with water. Then coming around the Tarn and dropping to Backbarrow hit with very strong winds and sleety snow storm.
Very slow in the shoes.

Kirby Moor. Very wet underfoot and drizzling as I started. Felt ok over Out Park, bit leggy through heather near windmills at Brunt Riggs. Then turned into harder rain and wind and track behind Gunson Hill a trudge. Descending Shooting House Hill helped recovery and steady up final climb.
Happy with time given the past week and conditions.

Drove back from Badaguish - first hour in blizzard conditions following tyre tracks of van in front through snow. Then another hour of driving rain. M6 finally ended with a touch of aquaplaning just near J36.

A leg shake out after stopping in Haverthwaite to check the house.
Started over river bridge (exceedingly full) and efforted up Brow Edge. Jogged first part of Trundle Brow to gate and then tempo downhill to Low Wood. Jogged around to field incline and efforted up, then tempo along old road to The Anglers Arms.

SOL1 - Darnaway. First control not on hill, but on small spur so cautious into #2. Then avoided path run around two side of triangle on way to #3 and went direct - through brashed deep heather. Navigation ok but felt it in my legs and cost 2 mins. Trundled around rest of course okish - small miss at #5, routing error at #12 when Paul M went past & I stopped navigating for a couple of minutes.
Very tired at the end.
