Testing a course in Neerpakka. Did about 5 min mistakes although I had set the course and controls in the forest. Maybe it affected that I was also checking that everything was ok with the map at the same time. Just great terrain!
A very short warm-up for the race 5' + 20' running back from the forest through an awesome rain.
Orienteering race 1:05:00 [4] 8.0 km (8:08 / km)
Planned to do longer preparatory race for Jukola, but it just didn't work out today so I got DNF. My body just wasn't willing to run at race speed today and did also some mistakes at early part of the race. Didn't like the jungle-like forest either.
Sprint-o race. Felt ok, but got a bit tired at the end, and the gap to the lead was bigger than I expected. I did also some small mistakes. Probably I'm also still missing one gear, and the "all-out sprint attitude".
O-session on moraine terrain with a lot of tracks and some steep hills. Good fast pace training. The overall feeling has improved significantly during the last week and the shape is getting better all the time.
