Cat Meow and the course was the cluster training, where there was 3 controls followed by a long leg. Woods a bit wet from the rain and slippery footing for me. Hard to run, but great enjoyment of the navigation.

Cats again and it was the prediciton course. It was awesome as things started to dry out quite nicely. Some tough controls but I got em.

Orienteering Meet race 33:11 [5] *** 3.9 km (8:31 / km)

3 loop sprint at Mauthe Lake and I was the only one who did not make the same mistake on the 3rd loop where they ran from 17 to 7 and not 18. It just seemed like the natural to finish the course. Finally ran hard, but simple course.

Couse set by Kevin that involved going back and forth zig-zag with seeing people part of the distraction. Hep Cat was the map.

When we fiunished the first exercise it was time for partner memory O . Your partner memorizes the course and goes, you use the time to look at yopur next route and hand him the map and then go. Back and forth for 12 controls. My partner Tom S and I each had a couple of issues but we nailed more right on.

Cat's meow walking the Red course from the US Champs from 2009. Much thicker then in the fall, but completly enjoyable with very challanging legs and terrain. My legs were sore form the weekend so I basicly walked with bits of jogging. What a great setup for training!!!!

Orienteering Related 1:15:00 [3] 4.0 km (18:45 / km)

Menory O at Cats Agenda. This was very cool excpet the 2nd control I messed up because of werre I came in from the trail. Had to use my cheat map to get back on course. After that the memory part was challanging and no cheating. Going across the big open area to the north I had two sandhill cranes going back and forth making all kinds of noise. I suspected that I was going near a nest or something, sure enough I walked right by a small baby in the tall grass. I just said hi and left.

Running race 1:00:25 [5] 7.8 mi (7:45 / mi)

My goal for this as the first 8 was to break one hour, I had to weave around some mud puddles and lack of people to catch on this super staight trail from Kenosha to Zion IL made it tough to stay motivated.
12 AM

Running race 23:32 [5] 3.2 mi (7:21 / mi)

My night run and it was the easy 3.2 miler. Sandwiched by an 8 and a 7.8 milers My legs felt good after this 2nd run, its the 3rd that ended up with sore muscles. Cool running in Milwaukee on the Root River parkway. New legs this year were somewhat nice. More roads and less trail, but I think others like that better running at night.
