Out to Blueberry ski trail and it was -8 degrees. No freaking glide and my feet and fingers both got cold fast. Quit after a short loop!

Nokie Ski Race. I decided to do the 1/2 race due to the extreem cold. Great decision I’d say. It seemed only about zero degrees when I started. A bit over dressed, but overall fine. My fingers never got cold!! Toes only slightly frozen, but not bad. I bought a liner sock and put a chemical tie warmer on top of toes. Also bought face tape for exposed part of face. Both seemed to help.
My glide was not bad as I put Toko Blue flourcarbon wax on.
Better in the downhills than up. Overall times seemed slower this year of course.
I ended up 7 in my age group out of 19, if I was one year younger in 60-64 I would of placed 3rd ha ha.
Special Red founder bibs for people who have skied all 21 races and there only seems to be about 30 of us left.

Back to Blueberry ski trail before the deep freeze hits up here. Nice with lots of fresh snow on the trail. Except the one trail that had like 3-4 inches of fresh snow that was slow, but beautiful!
Had some great whitefish after for dinner. Marquette always has great whitefish from Lake Superior!

Went to South Kettle Moraine, Called the Nordic Trail.
They groomed up the snow from Saturday and it was thin in spots. But was excellent skiing! It was my best ski this year!! I felt good, skis moving well
And it was not freezing cold, just regular cold.
We skied till it was too dark and took a shortcut missing the most hilly section, but arriving back too soon, so we did another loop in the dark.
Now I almost feel bad for switching to the half marathon this Saturday.
