Running 45:00 [3] 3.5 mi (12:51 / mi)
shoes: Scarpa Spin

Canicross race at Petrfying Springs.
Well it did not start out so good and ended worse.
I must admit I have not run with Stella at all this year. But she is fit and active sprinter in my yard.
We got to the race and she didn’t want to walk to the start. Probably to many dogs around do I carried her closer to the start. I didn’t get I’m much of a warmup either. So we started way outside the group and when it all started she got into the event, chasing the other dogs. Fast start and than oops she had to go. She than was passed by this guy and his dog Sophie who Stella loves to follow and do a lot of pulling to stay with her and her owner who we know and I’ve talked to after our two previous races. I was fine just hanging behind them. The trail was actually quite knarly for being pulled a bit.
Well there was a sharp turn with about one K left and we lost site of them.
Stella wanted to go left and refused to continue on the right course. Even as other people and dogs ran by she refused to continue in the right direction.
This went on for a while, nothing could get her to move. So I let her lead me on the wrong trail till we looped back on the course again, up the big nasty hill and basicly walked the rest of the course in. Last place behind people walking their dogs. All I could do was get her in the truck and say goodbye to the race people.
I think she just ran out of gas, because she was fine when she got home.

Note to self, train her more for the running events.

Mt. Biking 1:44:00 [3] 13.0 mi (8:00 / mi)

A very bad start to my day when I learned that Marie Cat Bruno died this weekend of a brain anurisim. I was stunned and shocked that such a young lady and good friend passed. She was all about our sport and loved other outdoor activities. I had so many good times with her I will never forget.

RIP Marie Cat. I’m gonna miss you!!
