Marquette Michigan, went to Presque isle to hike as much of the trails as possible to overlay on the orienteering map. Cold windy day but the sun was shinning. Found where about a dozen deer reside in the middle.

Chasing the Bone Adventure Race.... yes they were chasing Soupbone!!
Well not really, we started out in last place because we screwed up the mystery event to start the bike. So that took any competitive edge off the race for us. I had a poor don't give a care attitude and went through the biking course to the canoe part. In the canoe part with a super strong wind we skipped the two controls north and figured it was over. We did more bike controls to the south and had to work very hard into the wind back to the start area. Then there was a mountain bike section, we skipped 2 of the 3 controls, so we could start the orienteering section. This was the only reason I signed up for the race as the Badger club is putting on zero events this year???
Well for the O part on the Famous Greenbush map there was an excellent course setter using pin punch. The woods were beautiful and we just like clockwork just kept picking up the controls which were worth one point a piece. We hit 25 of 30 and finished with 5 minutes to spare.
Turns out we win the overall and $75 prize.

Orienteering Meet race 2:30:00 [4] ***** 10.61 km (14:09 / km) +165m 13:07 / km

Orienteering part of adventure race. They only gave us one map so Maricel and I switched off, but the last hour I did all I could walking to stay with him navagating.
There were 30 controls and after all we did walking with maybe a slight jog on the downs was all I could manage.
This part of the race put us over the top and overall winners!!

Note

Pretty bad week trying to catch up and then mess my back up for the weekend. Still plan on dong the adventure 8 hour race at Greenbush tomorrow, though I might have to drop and just do the orienteering and skip the paddle and bike parts.
