Orienteering Meet race 1:18:38 [5] ***** 6.84 km (11:30 / km) +214m 9:56 / km

Oceania Long event. Well the walk to the start was totally thick jungle woods.
I was careful at first but trying to get no 3 was really tough in this jungle type terrain.
I had to relocate to the road and go back in to get it. 6 min lost ouch.
Then 5,6,7. Were in this dense area with fallen logs and poor visibility. Bailed out to a trail to get no 7
Way off on 9 and then this became survival. Fortunately the last 4 control were in a totally different area that was actually quite nice woods.
This was a very tough area with low visibility in spots.

Orienteering Meet race 14:52 intensity: (19 @1) + (7:05 @2) + (6:22 @3) + (1:03 @4) + (3 @5) ** 2.22 km (6:42 / km) +25m 6:20 / km

Oceania Sprint. A little jet lagged, not the fastest but good for 15 th out of 103 in age group.
Sprint was on a campus that started out with the first 5 controls by buildings.
Then it switched to trail junctions , fence corners and thickets.
I had to borrow some shoes since my luggage did not make it with me from the US
Nice start to the trip.

Orienteering Meet race 20:07 intensity: (1:59 @0) + (2:23 @1) + (6:21 @2) + (6:26 @3) + (2:58 @4) 2.18 mi (9:14 / mi)

Sprint 1 of 2. This was in the city of Columbus Ind.
Nice little town with some cool architecture.
One mistake going to no 1 thought I could by no two on way but there was a wall in the way. After that it was fairly simple and fun.

Orienteering Meet race 20:24 intensity: (10 @1) + (2:09 @2) + (6:29 @3) + (6:11 @4) + (5:25 @5) 3.52 km (5:47 / km) +5m 5:45 / km

Sprint 2 and more park like setting. One screw up here as on no 3 I didn't read thematsh next to the lake as marsh. So I went 100 metered past to another control on a hill and had to turn back to get the right one. Also lots of beer and pizza was not a good combo for running today. Did not win the sprint today but ended up first for the 2 sprint combo in M -60

Glen and I head into next year in a tie for 12 years of flying pig and 27.5 hours of orienteering. Oh he said I have a one second lead now!!!!
I'll take it!

In New Zealand now after long flights and now missing baggage that is supposed to be delivered tomorrow. Damn!
