Orienteering Meet race 1:44:54 [4] *** 5.0 km (20:59 / km) +165m 18:01 / km
ahr:144 max:182 spiked:12/15c shoes: Icebug green #5

Day one Boulder Dash near Hancock NH.
Was doing fine until the 2nd from last control. The bomb was this control. 35 minutes on a 10 min leg. I drifted south and was in no mans land of marsh and boulders. I had to laugh cause I didn't have a clue where I was at and nothing to relocate on.
Finally went to the finish area and from there the control was easy.
Nice map, lots of rocks that are hard to nav from.

Hiking 6:00:00 [3] 14.0 km (25:43 / km) +1200m 18:00 / km

Epic Hike up in the adrindock area. 3:15 up and 2:45 down.
We hiked/ scrambled up Mt Alogquin from the ADK club house.
Trail started nice and then it was almost pure Boulder hopping and smooth rock all the way up to above tree line. At the top it was windy and cold. Timing was amazing as we say for lunch out of the wind with the warm sun out. As soon as we finished the clouds and wind came up and it got cold. Hustled down to tree line and Jim let me use one of his hiking sticks which was the first time I really ever used one. It worked pretty nice. Continue rocks steep and otherwise made for an exhausting hike.

Rerun a brown course at Moreau St park. Very nice course.

Orienteering Related 2:06:00 [2] 6.5 km (19:23 / km)

Walked an old green course at Moreau St Park.
This was tough, as I had to relocate and be very careful to first 2 controls.
Jim was going backwards and we were both hanging ribbons and then to be picked up. This area is very tough to relocate with little trails and lots of rocks and cliffs all over the place. Very nice day.

Hiking 1:05:00 [3] 3.5 km (18:34 / km)

Hike up the to the top of Moreau to get to the area we wanted to train on. Big up for 30 min.

Pine ridge day 2 long distance event.
Awesome day with lots of trail options. Moved from 3rd to 2nd overall. On #8 I should of taken the trail and not more direct run and could of saved 4-6 minutes on that leg, even though I was pretty clean getting to it anyway.
Great woods and great courses this weekend. This is what orienteering is all about!
