Middle distance A meet at Hemlock Overlook Park.
Well it did not start too good as I missed the turn to the start and walked about 2 k and ended up
at the finish area. Made it to the start and recieved a late start time.
Really lost some 3+ minutes looking for control #2. After that pretty good but not too fast and ended up 5th in age group.
Another great map with awesome woods to run in.

US Night O Championships at Oregon Ridge Park Cockeysville, MD
Rolled in in plenty of time after flying in from ORD and Maricel was 2 hours late.
It was a bit cold 37 degrees but no wind. So almost perfect!
Did not start out to good as I picked up the green Y clue sheet and I was on green X.
So after hitting my first control on a rootstock, code didn't match and worked my way south to a 2nd rootstock. I had to ask someone where he was, I was on my 2nd control rootstock and realized my mistake. Took off back to the first control and back to the 2nd 200 meters apart. So with some serious ouch I continued on. Not terribly clean on some but good enough for 2nd in my age group. 9 minutes out of 1st.
Nice woods and indoor shelter near the start and finish.

Even though I was meet director, I went out for a run when everything was in control. The controls were all located on or just off the trails per current forest preserve regulations. The course was fantastic, since you had to go through the woods to get to trails he he. Fun run and I used trail running shoes for the event.
Even Chi-Town showed up and did his first O course in 6 years!!!!

Afterward we had the Volunteer Appreciation luncheon nearby at a brewpub. We will make this a yearly tradition from now on!!
