Orienteering Meet race 1:19:00 [5] ***** 4.0 mi (19:45 / mi)
spiked:12/14c
After losing a couple of minutes getting to NO.3 a competior closed in on me and we battled through the next 5 controls. Than the light went out and I head on a tree, the tree was still standing and I wasn't. I hit it low and blocked some of the impact with my arm and finger. All three took a beating. I checked my self to see if I was all right and when I checked my head for blood, my little finer was cut open and bleeding all over. My halo headband saved some head skin, I am sure. I was somewhat disorientated, what else is new, and I went on finding the next control and having a long trail run. I seemed ok untill i should of had a super easy control and when I came off the trail to look for a lake, all I saw was green area and open fileds. I drifted to low and with other orienteers running around looking fdor the next control,I was a mess. Finally hitting the 12 control from the trail to the east. I made it in finally. Just two controls cost me big minutes and I did well in the techinal areas.
