Flying Pig Middle day 3. Wow what a great weekend! Friends & orienteering, CAOC Van Trip = FUN.
Perfect weather and the second day in Yellowood terrain.
My personal run was fair, making 2 mistakes today, cost energy and time. Ther first seven controls were fairly flawless. # 8, I mistook a non mapped little reenentrant as the one I was looking for. Fooled me into thinking that I needed to go over the spur and check the wrong gully, backtracked fot it and a minute lost. No 11, I was careless by going too far to the reenentrant to the south off by 150 meters OUCH. Lots of time lost.

The course was so cool minus the tough climbs, which is the only way you can run in such a beautiful area. Been wanting to O here for a long time since CTC and I did a six hour rogaine here 10 years ago.
Even caught one up on GT in the long standing PIG series, but he still is 2 up on me. Superfast did it in 30 ##. BP was 31. Haggis was also having a great run to near the end. Fast times with great vis.
Tom Nolan who I have only met once, ran a great weekend, tieing me in the Sprint, a couple of minutes better in the Long and 7 seconds better in the Middle. The last 2 controls were all the difference. I contoured around the hill to the go control which was steep and somewhat tired in the sprint in giving up more time was the difference today in M-60.
Next time hammer straight up the hill.
The annual van trip was quite a blast trying to get in resturants and bars with 10 or more in a crowded college town.

This was one of the best Pigs ever!!

Thanks to all who helped make it a great weekend.
