orienteering 1:45:00 [2]

The Bumble, pink course. Missed the mass start as I was getting Katherine fed and ready to walk the orange course with my mom. Ended up starting about 20 minutes late, and didn't read ahead as effectively as I wanted to, so lost a couple minutes looking for the first control in the first window (D?). Probably some sub-optimal route choice here as well. Tried to pull it together for windows 3 and 5, but again, got sucked off in the wrong direction on window 3 and probably took the controls in a less-than-optimal order. Window 5 was fine, and I finished behind Julie Keim and ahead of Valerie, so right about where I expected. Would have been nice to have some practice pushing myself in a mass start, but oh well. Katherine and my mom had a great time on the first part of the orange course, until mom slipped in some mud and sat down on the trail. Katherine was fine in the carrier, but falling while carrying her is still one of my biggest fears, so sticking to the easier courses and going nice and slow is definitely best, at least until she's a bit more robust.

Walking 2:00:00 [1] 5.4 mi (22:13 / mi)

Walking around DC and the Mall with mom and dad and Katherine. Also went to the Air and Space Museum for a little bit, and after all that excitement, Katherine slept through the night for the first time! Well, 7.5 hours, but close enough.

running 35:00 intensity: (10:00 @1) + (25:00 @2) 3.2 mi (10:56 / mi)

Pyramid run with an added 5' interval, bringing the distance to just over 3 miles. Felt nice and strong, and ready to add some (light) speed work this month. Just over 8 weeks until the 10 miler, so definitely time to focus on a solid training plan.
