Orienteering race (Sydney Sprint Series 1) 18:03 [4] 2.63 km (6:52 / km)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Rider 17 (blue)

Crimson Hill - Long
Good course that caught me out in a few places. Biggest time loss was 10 to 11 where I climbed too high to the fence then had to descend again, lost over a minute.

Orienteering (Xmas 5 Days - Day 5) 52:38 [3] 6.22 km (8:28 / km)
shoes: Inov8 x-talon 212 original (3)

Mount Brown - Hard 3 (MC)
Great area. Steady through first 3, a bit wayward on 4 where I overshot to the right and luckily had the two fences to relocate off of. Ok for most of long leg to 7 but pulled up a bit short and then careless to 10 where I should have read the map more carefully. An enjoyable end to the 5 days. Finished 7th overall on best of 4 out of 5 days, should have done better on day 2. Both Ewan & Nea won their classes (MF & WF).

Orienteering race (Xmas 5 Days - Day 4) 52:26 [4] 6.63 km (7:55 / km)
shoes: Inov8 x-talon 212 original (3)

Kooringle - Hard 3 (MC)
New map which was tricky in places. Pulled up short and too far down on 2. Not sure what happened on 8 as I thought I could see where the control was only to end up over to the right (not the only one). Should have gone straight down to the creek on leaving 9 rather than trying to contour abd ending up in the green. Another average run.

Orienteering race (Xmas 5 Days - Day 3) 52:55 [3] 6.27 km (8:26 / km)

Oakview - Hard 3 (MC)
Nightmare first control through the green which I thankfully stumbled across. Still hard work down the spur to the creek before things opened out a bit. At 4 was too far down the ridge so had to climb back up to the correct bare rock. Nearly made a 180 coming out of the last control until I noticed others heading in the opposite direction. Fast downhill run to the finish. No GPS trace as battery was flat.

Orienteering race (Xmas 5 Days - Day 2) 50:49 [4] 6.53 km (7:47 / km)
shoes: Inov8 x-talon 212 original (3)

Blue Hole - Hard 3 (MC)
Okay through the first 3 then blew 9 minutes on 4 where I got to within 50m of the control before losing confidence and then heading off at a 90 degree angle down the spur. More time lost at 10 where hit the river and turned right rather than left to get to the creek crossing. No real problems through the last loop.
