Orienteering race (Sydney Sprint Series 1) 20:50 [4] 3.75 km (5:33 / km)

Sydney Uni - Great course from Brooner making good use of the multi-levels, especially in the second half just as the brain was starting to get starved of oxygen. Time losses at 13,16 and 18, the first two of which involved an out and back down to a lower level, something I seemed loath to do. 18 was plain stupid as I looked for the control on the top of the bridge full well not knowing it was there as I had already run over the bridge. Paula beat me by 3 seconds to take bragging rights!

Orienteering race (Sydney Summer Series 14) 45:32 [4] 7.92 km (5:45 / km)

Lane Cove National Park
Given this is our stamping ground a event not to be missed despite having just finished the Xmas 5 days. Difficult to choose the best route so I opted for the sub-optimal bush route taking the path along the north side of the river. Only real mistake was to do 4 on the way to 27 rather than at the start as meant unnecessary climb. A bit of bush bashing took me straight from 27 to 2 (unplanned). Finished with 410 which wasn't too bad given there where far better routes that involved more street running. Legs shot so a few days rest are in order.

Orienteering race (Xmas 5 Days - Day 5) 37:02 [4] 5.21 km (7:06 / km)

Macquarie Woods North
Started at the same time as Rob Vincent who was on the B loop. I was slower through the loops but caught Robon the way to 9, we ran head to head to 14 (which was in the wrong place) with me the faster but Rob the more accurate. Pulled out a gap on the way to 18 then promptly blew it on 19 (still not sure what happened but ended up to the SE) and gave away over 2 minutes to finish 4th on the day and 3rd overall for the 5 days after Rob & Undy. Great 5 days of orienteering; good maps, good weather & great competition.
