Orienteering race (Australian Sprint Champs) 18:02 [4] 3.51 km (5:08 / km)

Canberra Grammar School - M50 (Hard 5)
Finished thinking I'd run a good race only to find I hadn't punched the control at the map change. For the non-elites there were two sets of boxes either side of the control and I was so focussed on going to the right set that I forgot to punch. Fun course making the most of a small area. No real mistakes except for the obvious. Would have finished 4th or 5th if I had remembered to punch but had to face the ignominy of having to hang up my slat at the bottom.

Running 35:13 [3] 6.08 km (5:48 / km)

Home early so easy around Fairylands. A fair number of branches down after this afternoon's winds.

6 PM

Orienteering warm up/down 11:00 [3] 2.02 km (5:27 / km)

Down to Sydney Park.
7 PM

Orienteering 18:59 [4] 4.02 km (4:43 / km)

Andy's o-interval session in Sydney Park. Rerunning a sprint course from a few years back, made a bit trickier by all the temporary fences around the works. Regrouped at 7 before doing the second half. Good session, didn't do too bad keeping up with the youngsters (it's all relative)!
8 PM

Orienteering warm up/down 30:41 [3] 4.7 km (6:32 / km)

Back to work, then to Redfern station and finally home from Chatswood Station.

Orienteering race 1:06:21 [4] 9.64 km (6:53 / km)

NSW Long Champs - Astley's Tower East
Not the best of runs marred by numerous small mistakes, the biggest being at number 4 where I lost 3.5 mins trying the find the high point which was <50m off the track. Leaving 6 I started to head up the hill before changing my mind to take the lower route and probably binning more time in doing so, the moral here being stick with your original plan. Came across Ewan & Tom Kennedy on my way to 10 who were relocating as they hadn't been told that their start triangle was different to the moderate & hard courses. First places for both the Shingler ladies and nothing for the boys!
