orienteering race 18:18 [3] 2.5 km (7:19 / km) +40m 6:47 / km
shoes: Asics GT 1000 #6 (black)

ACT Sprint Champs, Canberra Grammar

Bit of a messy run - ran past #3 and didn't punch, then back to it, lost confidence between 4&5, then lost contact, then did a 180- after the map flip.

Was trying to run without glasses in case it rained, but as usual, failed to use magnifier.

orienteering race 59:22 [3] 8.0 km (7:25 / km) +120m 6:54 / km
weight:75.2kg shoes: Inov-8 X-Talon 212 (#7 Black)

Not in the right groove at the start, instead of running off with the pack as usual, I stood still looking at the map, so was in last place pretty quickly.
Felt pretty bleagh running, working through a few people to #1, then at #2 didn't see anyone getting the control and foolishly followed Milo's pack who already had #2.

I mis-remembered the rules and thought there was only 1 skip this year, so that was pretty much game over for shenanigans apart from the box.

Slowly caught people, mainly through them making mistakes rather than me running fast, lost Michele in the box as she headed to B and I did A first, leaving the opportunity to prostrate myself in from of Milo at B.

Ran the log over the pond in both directions (OK, walked it the first time).

Hacked my way up to #20 near end which was probably 2 or 3 minutes of time wasted as I could have skipped it.

Anyway pleased with 4th, need to have my racing head and tummy on next year.
