MTBO race 1:19:27 [3] 20.9 km (3:48 / km) +340m 3:31 / km

MTBO Super Series, Horsley Park.

Bit nervous beforehand having not MTBOd for sometime, worried that I would disgrace myself on the long. Turned out to be a lot of fun - we weren't restricted to tracks, so lots of route choice, picked up a lot of grass and even more mud, but the 29ers with relatively low pressure (30psi after conference with O'ing) were great.

Had to stop dead few times to check the map and some small overshoots. Lost touch on the hardest control (?9) - near where the start was at the recent foot-o. Took a while to convince myself to carry on down the hill.

5 seconds behind Jason R., who won.

OK, now with map and splits (... just noticed there is a split missing in AP, so this may all be crap)
dumb route to 1, went E, not W.
Thought I rode OK to 2, but lost time.
Good time to 3 despite losing 15s by going up wrong track (private prop just before real track)
I think big soft tyres helped the xc legs - Jason said he had to push across the rough to 4, but I was cruising.
6 I thought I'd missed, reckon it was a little low.
8 I was slow - feeding.
10, went right, looks like a major route choice win +15s
13 - lost time, not sure why, maybe route choice, maybe slow up hill
17 - grabbed lead only to lose it on the ride in.

cycling 50:00 [3] 15.38 km (3:15 / km) +110m 3:08 / km

Very quiet on the bike front, forecast of rain must have put people off.

soccer 20:00 [3] 2.5 km (8:00 / km)

Soccer GF. Scored opening goal after coming off the bench - long ball from keeper to my head, did one of those jump up and twist my head type things that they do on TV and for a change the ball did what I wanted it to do rather than obeying the laws of physics.

2-0 win.

cycling 36:00 [3] 12.0 km (3:00 / km)

Ride to/from soccer

run 38:56 [3] 6.0 km (6:29 / km) +150m 5:46 / km
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212 (#4 - blue)

Same as last night, but in the light. GPS weirdly has it even shorter.

Having watched the first half of the Engerland v Norway game - 0-0, Norway all over us, I raced to work to watch the end on teh big screen only to find the England were winning 2-1.

8 AM

cycling 20:00 [3] 8.0 km (2:30 / km)

Colder than I thought. Two layers for me. Chain needs oil.
5 PM

run 41:29 [3] 6.24 km (6:39 / km) +150m 5:56 / km
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212 (#4 - blue)

Headlight run home. Was much warmer than I anticipated. Just shrugging a bit of Indo belly (I hope that's all - Lyra on week 5 off school with her bug), and this seemed to help.
