cycling 1:10:00 [2]

Half-car free day - borrowed Hartono's bike again. This time I was much earlier - 6.30, so got further before he needed his bike back. As well as riding the half-car-free roads, I rode through Senayan, trying to figure out a better way to get to ultimate. MAy have round it, I'll try running that way this arvo.

There was an Indonesian Super League game going on in the stadium in the middle of the park and the park and streets around were packed with fans of the local team. I mean really packed - buses and buses of orange clad fans - probably overloaded by a factor of 2 with another half dozen on the roof banging drums.

The crazy drumming and crowds went on for about 3 hours (ie throughout the whole ultimate game) with only a slightly diminished crowd size the soccer was actually on. A few watched us play, but the noise and energy was great.

run 23:00 [4] 5.0 km (4:36 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel-1150

10 laps of the hotel track - its such a tight track with a lot of bends, two tunnels, nice parts through the pool gardens eyc that 10 laps goes by pretty quickly.

run 22:00 [3] 5.0 km (4:24 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel-1150

5 km of the hotel running track. Managed to get a good night's sleep last night, but woken by protesters at about 5.30am... a little bit concerened as there is a heightened security risk today when its expected that Abu Bakir Bashir will get sentenced.

..but for all I know, the protest could have been about crowding on buses.

Another epic taxi ride to get to ultimate - was a bit concerned about getting the bus, with the "heightened state of security". It turns out it was Canadian ice hockey fans who were yesterdays big danger, bot Abu Bakir Bashir's followers.

Pulled up really well after the game today, big difference to the last 3. Now I have to figure what the difference was: (a) two rest days before, (b) a run in the morning, (c) not going out drinking until 1am afterwards, (d) eating lunch
