Steve has a "big race" tomorrow, and so we kept it short, not wishing to overtax his aging resources. Toothless street lady's grandnephew was shot and killed this past week. Sad news from our friend.

Steve's form was back to normal. Monday was just a hiccup. The weather was pleasant this morning: 52°, partly overcast, dry mild breeze.

The knee and hip pain from the arthritis is defeating my spirit. It has won the physical war in slowing me to a forgotten has been. My hope is all but gone. Acceptance of what is is in place but little is left to drive my spirit.

Running 45:09 [3] 4.81 mi (9:23 / mi)

It was raining this morning, so I dressed accordingly; shorts, two thin hitek shirts. I was prepared to go when the phone rang. It was 6:57am. Steve suggested that we drive down to the Natural Areas and access the bike path there. That way we could avoid splashings and possible collisions with mechanized units. I agreed.

We kept it short, running to downtown, across the Main/High bridge and returning via Columbia bridge, staying on the bike path the whole way, and avoiding crossing any intersections. http://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/copy/204810718/ We could easily have continued into Joyce Park for another mile out and back to achieve our standard distance, but I was not up for it and Steve was suffering from some mysterious hindrance; perhaps medication.

Ironically the rain had let up and was not a factor.
