I invited my niece and nephew (Grace & Joe) to try some campus sprint Orienteering. I thought they may find the open nature of the map simple and an enjoyable first experience. I had built it up to them over a couple days; made arrangements to pick them up after work. When I pulled up in their drive they were noticeably excited. I guess I was too. I had completely neglected to apply my anti-inflammatories. I didn't realize my mistake until after we had arrived in Oxford.
Typically I would apply Diclofenac gel on my knees. Preferably twice over a 4 hour period beforehand. In addition I generally take two Aleve several hours prior to running. Oh well. I forgot. How bad could it be?
BAD!
After completing course 2 I felt like I had run a half marathon. But being crazy , went on and ran Course 3. I struggled to complete it. Afterwards I felt like a train wreck. I could not remain standing.
This morning, I can barely walk. I have not felt this bad since I ran my last full Marathon.
