orienteering 57:13 [4] 6.05 km (9:27 / km)
ahr:148 shoes: Oroc 280

new map at Yellow Pine, 1:10000 scale. Course listed as 5.3 km. The first half was open and very fast while the second half was more wooded and/or sagebrush. I overshot #6 by about 50 to 60 meters and then corrected, otherwise very clean.

orienteering race 1:05:31 [3] 7.22 km (9:04 / km)
shoes: RocLite 315, gray

Mass start at Idonwannabe, clear and no wind. All good except for relocation at #5 when I went left and should have gone right.

orienteering 1:06:35 [3] 6.33 km (10:31 / km)
shoes: RocLite 315, gray

Training race at Middle Crow's Toe -- map is 1:15000 with a course of 5.4 km. I had a very clean run with one exception. The control at #3, I believe, was hung higher in the reentrant than indicated by the control circle. I went too low and continued til I was well beyond the marked position, then climbed back up to the flag. My gps track confirms my suspicions that the flag was too high. Only about 3 min. extra

legs 9 to 10 and 10 to 11, I chose to contour to both of these even though that may have been somewhat slower.

Monday Aug 22, 2011 #
