Note

Last calf spasm was 17th Jan. I was running (slowly) again 3 days later so I'm hopeful I will be running again this time by the weekend. It is a bit sore walking around today but no worse than before I ran yesterday. Cycling tomorrow and hopefully a test run on Thursday.
Probably should get myself booked in for a massage soon.

SOL, Birsemore.
Blue course (recommended for M55:) 5.0km, 170m.
Calf sore after last night despite rolling and stretching. Walked to the start with Lulu and set off steadily. It turned out to be bearable at a steady plod. Navigation quite easy at this pace so pretty much spiked every control. Still surprised to be 5 mins down on a W18. Apparently she did win the Scottish X-Country Champs yesterday though.
Finished mid-pack of the M16's, 6 mins down, but first (very) old man.

British Night Champs, Muir of Dinnet.
M55L 5.6km 235m.
Going ok (except small misses at #3 and #7) until a major disaster at #8. Crossed the road further north than I thought and took a long time to twig. Probably lost around 6 mins. Then my L calf went into spasm coming out of #9 and I was hobbling from there on. Continued also to make navigational errors. Over 10 mins lost in total. Luckily Bilbo didn't turn up to embarrass the rest of us.
Somehow finished 2nd, 2 mins behind Dave Robertson.
