WCH event, Beaudesert.
Brown course, 7.8km 225m.
Better course than last year's JK which kept you in terrain and thinking much more. Vegetation mapping unreliable already after just one year.
I lost time on #2 (poor route execution), #11 (hesitation after being distracted and getting pulled off course), #12 (bramble far worse than mapped on the straight line) but most significantly #18. I contrived to take 4.5 mins for a leg of less than 100m. I couldn't persuade myself to climb far enough put off by the unreliable mapping of the vegetation on that slope. I'm not convinced that the control was in the right place. Could it have been on the other knoll in the dark green slightly higher up the hill?
3 mins binned at #18 and around 5 mins in total. Finished in 4th, over 15 mins down on Will Gardner.
