Irish Sprint Champs, Sligo Institute of Technology.
M50 2.4 km
This weekend is the same format as the JK. There I chose to sit out the Sprint to preserve my body for the 'proper ' orienteering. I thought about doing the same here but decided a leg stretcher after the long drive would be good.
Started a minute after Bill and a minute before Dirk Goossens which made my plan to cruise rather than race a bit more difficult. Still managed to run within myself. Dirk caught and passed me about 2/3's distance. Happy to finish in one piece.
The orienteering was very straightforward. I still managed to take the wrong route on the only real route choice (#3).
6th place. 1 and a bit mins down on Dirk.

Minimal warm up as we only just got there in time. Better warm down with Bill afterwards.

Standard MTB loop in usual direction. Bike running beautifully after the service. Also bottom end of Ramsden Road has been regraded making the climb easier. Strava segment records here. Overall time slowed by windy conditions.

Set off for a longer run but R calf in spasm immediately. Decided to carry on at a very steady pace to see what happened. Not getting worse except downhill on the road but not getting any better either.
Nice lap of Brownhill Res inc the unofficial path through the woods.
