Probably take a couple of days off to let the Achilles settle. It doesn't seem too bad though so hopefully I will be ok to resume the build up on Tuesday.

British Night Champs. Merthyr Mawr.
M50L 7.5km, 185m.
2nd behind Dave P (60 mins).
Achilles pretty good but, as usual, tomorrow morning is the real test.
The navigation was easier than anticipated. Lots of long legs with scope for simplification. If anything I was over cautious with some of my routes. Only lost time in a couple of places. #9 I lost contact briefly and did a small loop before finding the control. Coming out of #14 my headtorch and buff got whipped off by a tree and I took a while to sort myself out. Then, slightly flustered and dazzled, I lost the track in the clearing through the green to #15 and had to double back. Maybe 2 mins in total lost.

Testing Achilles in terrain before the weekend. Seemed ok but as usual tomorrow morning will be key. Precautionary ice afterwards.
