Another go at 5 x 30 seconds jogging. Soreness gradually building up from the start but did all 5 in the hope it might subside. No such luck. Pretty frustrated now; no apparent progress. Soreness is definitely in the lowest/thinnest part of the calf, but above what I would consider the Achilles.

Mountain bike round the specially constructed trails on Star Posts. Did the full Blue trail and about half the Red one (or as much as was allowed: a few detours due to some silly running event taking place...) before mechanical issues prevented any more. Brakes completely gone so was riding into the forest to slow down. This lead to a stick getting stuck in the chain bending the derailleur 90 degrees. Thought I'd sorted this by bending it back only for it to snap off the next time I changed gear. Definitely need a new bike now!
Calf/Achilles feeling better today. 3 X 5 heel raises on one leg.

Golf comp. Good start and good finish with some dodgy stuff in between. Left Achilles feeling a bit tight as I walked. Worried that calf problem has turned into an Achilles problem.

Calf still still slightly tight this morning. Road bike to summit de Cote de Holme Moss. 22 mins from bridge in Holmbridge (compared with 8 mins according Le Tour schedule!)

Decided to have a go at intervals on the bike. Found a nice quiet uphill third of a mile. 5 reps in 2.15, 2.16. 2.16, 2.23, 2.19. Need a bit of practice to learn how to pace myself for this sort of session.
Now for some TV sport from Australia...come on England! (edit: a win at last!)
3 x 3 heel raise exercices (up and down on one leg). No pain with this.

Left calf a little sore this morning. Not sure if it's a reaction to yesterday's attempt at running or the treatment. Had planned to play golf but course waterlogged so complete rest day.
3 x 10 heel raise (up on two legs, down on left). Didn't feel ready to start the up and down on one leg yet.

Had another go at 5 x 30 seconds jogging but calf started to get sore again and gave up after 4 reps.
Instead got bike out and had a quick hilly blast around the Holmfirth area.

Another session with Kim. She tried some acupuncture this time as well as the usual massage. The soreness seems to be getting lower in the calf, dangerously near to the Achilles. I'm on a 3 day course of ibuprofen to try and nip any inflamation in the bud.
