Right Achilles a little sore today. Not sure if it's a delayed reaction to Saturday's racing or due to too much jogging on hard surfaces yesterday. Hopefully it'll settle down again with a little more rest.
London City Race.
Trying to be sensible (and follow Kim's advice) so didn't run this. I walked and jogged the first half of the course as a good way of checking out Canary Wharf (first time I've used an ATM whilst orienteering!). Achilles felt good with no soreness after yesterday's racing. Hopefully I can increase distance and speed over the next week.
Orienteering race 16:15 [4] 2.0 mi (8:07 / mi) (injured)
London Ultrasprint, Victoria Park.
Time is combined time for the three prologue courses. Tried to run within myself so as not to overstress the Achilles. Seemed to be OK with no pain.
Unfortunately my orienteering didn't go too well. I mispunched a control on an adjacent tree, so giving me a 30s penalty and missed out on the Final as a result.

Ultrasprint punters Final.
We decided to have an Adams family head to head. This probably wasn't a good idea as had to push to the limit to try (and fail) to keep up with Mikey. The maze at the end was somewhat overcrowded and some old (and rather large) woman wasn't letting me past. Three of us were trying to punch the final control simultaneously and I assumed the beep was my card registering. Apparently not. Grrrrr...
