All 20 controls with 15 mins to spare. Achilles a little niggly occasionally.

Sat out the British Relays to protect my Achilles. The SYO M40 teams managed pretty well without me, finishing 1st and 2nd. Perhaps just as well that I'll be M50 next year as I've probably lost my place in the team...
Achilles pretty good this morning, particularly after yesterday's hard run. I'm sure I could have run, but it just wasn't worth the risk of irritating it further.

British Long Champs, Winterfold. M45L, 10.1km, 375m. (course 13)
Plan was to set off at cruise pace and look after the Achilles by avoiding heel striking and easing off on descents on hard tracks. Worked pretty well but ended up doing far more track (and road) running than I'd expected. Achilles was sore occasionally but eased off whenever I had to slow down due to steep hills or tough undergrowth. Felt pretty good immediately afterwards too so optimistic it'll be OK tomorrow.
Pleasing performance technically; no more than a few seconds lost anywhere, although it was pretty easy. 4th (again). Couldn't have improved on this today.

Warrior Battleaxe, Bishop Woods. 60 min score with 20 controls,
Cruised round all 20 controls in 39 mins. Trying to maintain new style and went over on right ankle as a result. Not too bad I hope. Ice when I got home.
Rest now for BOC.
