Had to pick up our lamb at the Dennison Meat Locker, which is near one of my favorite State Parks, Nerstrand Big Woods. The dogs and I had a nice hike there, even ran into Tom and his little boy. Tom and his wife Bri had watched roux in 2014, while we were visiting Belize. They had a little excitement when Roux absconded, jumping their backyard fence. The big woods were lovely, as always, the falls were covered in ice. Glad we were able to combine duty with pleasure.

Did a Solstice hike along the beach on this soggy and mild first day of winter. After that, went with win to the back 40 to fell an Xmas tree. Tree may be too much said, I used loppers to cut it.

Another longish hike, up McCulloch, down to the Onion River valley by the powerline, then back up to the top via the second ravine, upstream. Looks like the new owner of the property adjacent to the Onion River valley has created an ATV trail onto public land, followed that for a while through the clearcut, then up to Smith Firelane, to Kjarvick and back home along the beach.
