Bike light was flashing when I returned to Vertical Endeavors lot. Thought that Bjorn played a joke on me but he said he hadn't. Oh well, some things will never be explained. Stopped at Aldi's and Dunn's on way home, Saw Mike and Dave sitting at Dunn's and stayed with them for a while to catch up.

Great double pole-single stick workout with Mike, Britt, Tom, Mark, Scott and Saul. Cooler than last week, but for whatever reason also slower. Maybe just the hard week behind me. Two guys were having a liquid breakfast on a park bench, after a while, I could smell the beer and ethyl alcohol fumes while double poling past. 2 DP - 1 SS - 2 DP - 1 SS -2 DP - 1 SS - 1 DP.

A wet ride this morning. Just a slight drizzle but the roads were wet. I used the wind-sheltered route through South St. Anthony this morning. The potholes weren't as bad as I recalled, maybe they did do some patching. My shoes were squishing when I got got off the bike at work. Interestingly, there were more cyclists out this AM than yesterday. If it's raining any harder, I'll be taking the train this afternoon.

Storm clouds to the east. Sure enough, a good half hour after I returned, it started raining. Luckily not before I picked the ripe tomatoes.

Always nice when the rain holds off until after I am done with my commute. It's supposed to rain all day today, the clouds are rolling in as I am writing this (7:30). I am taking it easy today, resting those tired legs. Will likely take the bike home on the train, unless the rain decides to take a break at that time.

Cooler temps, a brisk wind made for highly energized dogs. Amazing, what a difference of 5-6 °C makes. Roux was always way ahead, pulling on the leash when on. Even old Mellie was much livelier than usually. Other than that, not too much to report. We were dry, which is something, on this day that was supposed to be a washout.

Biking Commuting 37:34 intensity: (8:35 @1) + (23:42 @2) + (5:17 @3) 13.79 km (2:43 / km) +83m 2:39 / km

I had planned to take the train riding home, provided it rained. It did not rain, so I rode. The headwind was something else, but my only concession was a slower pace and taking the RR service road. I made it, without even braking too much of a sweat.

Meant to take it easy this morning but it turned out to be rolling very well. Kept up a pace that matched Monday's morning ride until I took a side trip to the Coon Rapids Dam. First time I have seen it, it's just a couple of minutes from my usual route. I even rode across the dam to the east bank. Earlier in the ride, at Shingle Creek, I had a scare when I took a right towards the river and a performance-oriented cyclist came tearing at high speed around a blind sharp turn on this rather narrow trail section way on my side of the trail. He almost went down while moving back to his side of the trail; if he had, he would have slid into me. I yelled Hey! and he mumbled an apology. Can't imagine what would have happened if instead of me, this would have been two walkers abreast, which would was entirely concevable on this combined hiker/cyclist portion of the trail.

I'm bushed. three days of hard workouts in a row, looking forward to tomorrow, when a washout may prevent me from doing much of anything. But I enjoyed this leisurely walk.

As expected, this was a more difficult ride. There was a noticeable headwind most of the way and I was feeling the work of the past two days. Quite happy of how it worked out.

Perfect morning. Do not recall having seen this many runners out at this time, all individuals or in pairs. I can understand, we haven't had many mornings like this lately. Took it easy, resting my tired legs from the long hard rides yesterday and looking forward to ski practice tonight.

Perfect afternoon, an easterly breeze with mild summer temps. Noticed a mom pushing a double stroller and then a cap that must have been drop by one of her twins. She had noticed already, I picked it up and brought it to her. Dogs were happy to follow every scent along Energy Park and the tracks. At the bottom of the Hamline pedestrian bridge I was greeted with a "Hi Christian" by a young woman I did only vaguely recognize. She introduce herself as "Linsy, Josh's wife," just a few houses from us. "Josh, the brewer?" I guessed. That's who it was indeed. I recalled him because he had brewed 40 gals. of beer for their wedding party. How could I forget him.

EU MYR: 5 x 6:00 Skate Intervals L3. Fantastic conditions for a hard workout. Not too warm, low humidity, dry pavement even in the typical spots. My legs a little tired from biking but that's OK. Started with a warm-up, followed by some technical drills; lock & load, lock & load plus step, small V2. Then the serious stuff. There were some "guests," John was there, still recovering from his valve job, Mike B was there and Kitty and Heather made an appearance. Fun! I could not keep up with Anatoly, Mo, Jamie and Mark. But Jamie got slower, I understand, just back from vacation. I did most by myself, based on my HR hitting probably a little harder than L3. But you live only once. I thought I was done after 4 times, lost track. Fortunately, I was able to finish the fifth without a hitch. I do love these hard workouts.

Wow, what an excellent ride! It hasn't been this cool in a morning in at least two weeks. No wind Made for good tempo and light traffic increased the riding enjoyment. Quite a few fellow bicycle commuters out, enjoying this perfect cycling weather. This afternoon, a noticeable tailwind is supposed to facilitate my ride home. I'm already looking forward to that!

Mirror ride from this morning, more traffic everywhere and the predicted tailwind was so-so. Really only got the full benefit of the wind when I started heading due east near downtown. Of course, there, I could not go all that fast beacause of thick traffic on the trail. A great ride, nevertheless!
