Another awesome event. Worried till the last moment about snow conditions, warm and cold temps. It ended up being perfect. Finally able to sustain V2 for some time and add it to my quiver of skills. Caught up with Heather and finished race together with her. Sauna and shower after, then the feed at Memorial Hall. Just great!

Skate Skiing Como 2 Laps
6:17 PM; Hamline Midway/Como Park

0.7 °C; Cloudy
It's been too long since I skied Como. Thanks to Karl for inviting me along. Super mild temperatures a very firm skating surface, no icy spots and very little dirt and grass. I had Karl as my guide who warned me off some of the tricky spots. Did two laps, just right before tomorrow's long drive to Washburn and Saturday's Sisu Ski Fest in Ironwood, MI.

Skijoring Roux 2 Laps
4:51 PM; Hamline Midway/Como Park

-3.1 °C; Cloudy
Two good laps with Roux, in spit of some dogs we passed and the little stinker being more interested in socializing than skiing. Very firm surface and more and more grass showing. We need that snow in the forecast!

Skijoring Mellie 1 Lap
5:20 PM; Hamline Midway/Como Park

-3.3 °C; Cloudy
After two laps with Roux, I traded him for Mellie. Decided not to take both dogs, as it was getting dark. Mellie did a good job, she is retirement age, though.

Skijoring Mellie & Roux 1 Lap
9:11 AM; Hamline Midway/Como Park

-2.7 °C; Partly cloudy
After finishing two nice laps with Roux, we stopped to pick up Mellie. Mellie was her usual rambunctious pre-skiing self and got us all tangled up. Once we got going, it was fun fun fun, though Roux has a hard time with the competitive thing, tries to bite (not very hard) her back. Of course Mellie had a pit stop, which I stuffed double wrapped into my man purse. Dogs were getting tired towards the end but a good time never the less. Picked up someone else's dog do near start area, people need to mind their dogs' excrements if we do not want to get a bad name and maybe even be excluded from the area.

Skijoring Roux 2 Laps
8:39 AM; Hamline Midway/Como Park

-3.1 °C; Cloudy
Took dogs to Highland for a quick few rounds. It looks like the routine to take Roux first and then add the gracefully aging Mellie for one last lap will work best. Roux is much easier to handle, not as wild and exuberant as Mellie is when we are getting ready. Today, he pulled very well for the first lap, he seems to be getting it. Also nice job keeping the rope out of my way when he slowed own, getting tired during our second round. He is still a little skittish but that's getting much better, too. He is still young and I am looking forward to him filling out and fully adult! Awesome little guy!
