XC Skiing Skate 28:25 intensity: (22 @1) + (16 @2) + (4:19 @3) + (6:41 @4) + (16:47 @5) 7.14 km (3:59 / km) +69m 3:48 / km
ahr:158 max:171 shoes: Landsem Touring Telemark

Did five laps after the three skijoring laps, which I considered my warm-up.
Four fast laps (as fast as you can go with almost 2 kg worth of BC/telemark skis and boots strapped to your feet)
One cool-down lap
At the beginning of my last faster lap, another skier showed up. he was doing some technique drills while I was finishing up.

XC Skiing Skijor 19:53 intensity: (4:16 @1) + (4:18 @2) + (10:41 @3) + (38 @4) 4.28 km (4:39 / km) +45m 4:25 / km

Mellie was dragging, we did three easy laps and I brought her to the car for rest while I continued. Sad to see your partner of many years of vigorous activity slow down. Though the slow pace may have been due to an anticipated BM.

Needed to take the Mellster out, she had been so excited about the snow. Conditions were not bad at all, in some of the short steep uphills some grass was showing and under the trees, leaves covered the tracks but we had a nice little ski on skier made tracks. excellent conditions on the stretch along the Highland HS sports fields and along Montreal. Very nice little skijor!

Hard to imagagine that it could be hard work to go in circles on the flat. The Sunday message from Endurance United said "Rock Skiing for Tuesday St. Paul Group!" the only rock skis I have are a pair of Landsem Telemark Touring skis plus back country leather boots, probably 2 kg for each leg. The ungroomed surface made for a quasi back country experience and I was huffing and puffing and not able to keep up with my brethren. But what fun to ski on snow!
2 laps skate skiing
figure eights fast
2 laps no poles
2 laps double poling
4 laps skate skiing

Biking MTB 2:10:22 intensity: (16:44 @1) + (46:18 @2) + (1:04:16 @3) + (2:43 @4) + (21 @5) 31.52 km (4:08 / km) +413m 3:53 / km

Beautiful morning for a ride, crisp, with a dusting of snow. Started with the RR grade along Hwy 13, challenging to make it through sometimes thick vegetation. Then Kjarvick Rd and Smith Fire Lane, followed by Jammer Hill and a short stretch of Whiting. And into the fun of the Mt. Ashwabay trail system. I made my way around the hill following Deer Path and Sugarbush trails and thenstarted to climb to the top on Anchor and Seagull. Saved the most fun for last, easy track down from the top and then Diesel Bear single track! Fun fun fun, always with that element of anticipation because of the thin layer of snow that hid the trail surface. All in all a great outing!
