I took the train to Prachuap Khiri Khan, Thailand the day before the race. I showed up to the race venue and tried to register for the race, but dispite the information that I found they would not let me! I woke up the next morning at 3:30 am. and walked to the start/finish area. I tried to register again, but I had no luck and they would not let me run officially! So I ran as a bandit. The race started at 5:30 am. and I started out at a comfortable pace. Immediately I turned right and started heading along the road by the ocean (on my right). I was feeling good physically, but I was somewhat demotivated that I was not running in the race officially, so no official time or placing. I was running well with the cool temperature. It was 23°C, but it was very himid at 96%. I passed the U-turn point just past the 6 km. mark and I started heading back towards the start/finish area going back mainly the same way. I took a gel at the 10 km. mark and then I passed the start/finish area and went along the road by the ocean (on my left). I entered the Wing 53 Air Base just past the 13 km. mark and I crossed the runway. I took a gel at the 16 km. mark, which gave me a boost of energy. I was still feeling strong and I was maintaining my pace (although a little slower then at the start of the race). I passed the Monkey Monument and the Wing 53 Air Base Monument at the 18 km. mark. I made one more cross of the runway just before the 19 km. mark. I picked up my pace and I finished strong. The organizers made sure not to give me a medal when I finished. I would have placed 8/269 overall and 3/62 in the 30-39 age group.
