The closest race to my residence that I have taken part in Thailand, only 4.5 km. away. It was a short bus ride to the start/finish area. I could of probably walked/jogged, but I did not want to do that with my bag in the dark. The race started at 6:00 am. (standard start time for 10-10.5 km. races in Thailand). I started off fast and I established myself near the front of the string of runners. I maintained my pace well throughout and held my position. I placed 5th in the 30-39 age group and 19th overall.

Running race 1:33:17 [5] 21.1 km (4:25 / km) +8m 4:25 / km
shoes: Nike Zoom Elite 8 2015

The race started at 5:20 am. at the Buriram International Circuit. The gun went off and I made my way around the circuit for the first 5 km., which was cool. I ran most of this section with three 1:30 paces until they pulled away from me. Then I went onto the streets which were lined with many cheering spectators. I passed the 7.6 km. mark in 32:55. I took at gel at the 10 km. mark and I was feeling good! As I made my way into the centre of the city there were lots of people cheering loudly This was very different then many races in Thailand that have few spectators due to the early start times of the races and the people usually don't cheer loudly due to their nature. I looped around the city and made my way back towards the finish line next to the Chang Area. I picked up my pace as I tried to get close to the 1:30 mark. I placed 40/3,337 overall and 12/767 in the 30-39 age group.

Running race 2:31:55 [5] 25.0 km (6:05 / km) +600m 5:26 / km
shoes: New Balance All Terrain 481 20

The race started at 6:30 am. and I started off quite fast, as I wanted to separate myself from the pack. I was feeling strong and I was confident that I could have a good run. The first 10 km. of the course was quite easy with not much climbing. There was a gradual incline around the 10 km. where I took the opportunity to take a gel. I did well getting through the technical rocky section of the course until I was descending and I lost track of the flagging tape as I was focussing on my feet to make sure that I did not fall. I ended up being on a parallel higher trail and I hit some bushes with nowhere to go. I backtracked about 100 meters and I found the flagging tape and the correct route. I ended up loosing 2-3 minutes. I continued along and tried to "make-up" the lost time. I caught and passed two runners who I think passed me when I went the wrong way. I took another gel at the 15 km. mark. Then there were some hills to contend with that I walked up as I was feeling really tired at this point. I took a final gel at the 20 km. mark and I made a push for the finish. I placed 13/904 overall and 6/240 in the 30-39 age group.
