Hiking 54:17 [3] 2.75 mi (19:44 / mi)

Walking between metro stops worked so well the other night that I had a planned one tonight. I walked from work to the Foggy Bottom station, and it was pretty interesting. I saw a little bit of everything, including walking past the White House. I may or may not have flipped off the a-hole who lives there. And I don't mean Melania.

Hiking 29:00 [3] 1.5 mi (19:20 / mi)

Metro was a mess tonight. Both of the lines I could take were single-tracking, so trains were coming 20 minutes apart. After waiting on the platform for about 30 minutes, I finally just took the Blue line to at least get to Rosslyn. After standing on that platform for another 20 minutes, I decided to start walking to the next station, about 1 mile. When I got there, I saw they were still single tracking, so I walked to the next station, about .5 miles. By then, they were back on schedule, so I went back below ground.

Brown course at Clopper Lake.

I had second thoughts about going to this event, mainly because I was having some definite GI issues this morning. And because of this:

But I did end up going, and the rain wasn't bad at all while I was in the woods. The course was fun, and I did fine. There were some hills that were very difficult to get up because they were basically mud slides. I'm glad I was wearing my spikes!

I just had one sub-par route choice, but otherwise I was happy with my choices.
