Walking 1:00:00 [2]

We ventured downtown today, starting asst the Hyde Park Winter Wonderland. It wasn't too crowded, and it was fun to walk around. Then wee plunged into Oxford St. and the Boxing Day crowds. OMG. It was worse than NYC. We definitely had to get out of there, so we headed to a pub to watch the soccer match, but we couldn't find a pub that was showing any matches. So weird. We then wondered around the city some more and headed home to meet our bags!

We had reservations that night at the Savoy Grille, so we were waiting with bated breath for our luggage. We had to push our reservation back twice, and ended up eating at 10 (finishing at 12:30!), but our luggage finally made it, and we were off. We weren't quite as fancy as everyone else, but the food was delicious, and we were just happy to have clean clothes.

We've been averaging 6.5 miles of walking each day.

After quite a disastrous time traveling to England, we finally made it! Our original flight out of Denver (to Atlanta to connect with our flight to London) kept getting delayed. From 10:35 to 11:20 to 12:40 and on and on. I'm not sure it ever left. We got moved to so many different flights because we kept getting pushed out beyond our connection time. Finally, an astute Delta agent called the British Airways desk at Denver airport and asked if they had room on their 5:30 direct flight to London and they did! So, after 10 hours in the airport, we were on our way. Sadly , though, our luggage was not.

The flight over was so nice. Only 100 people on a 300 seat plane, so we got to stretch out. We landed and got the bad news that our bags were still in Denver and wouldn't arrive until the next day. Oh well, nothing to do but make the best of it. Since we landed on Christmas morning, nothing was open, so we headed to our Airbnb and took a nap.

There was one little market open, so I got some food and Taylor, our resident chef, made a delicious dinner of pasta al fredo and salad. The kids went to do some exploring after that and found a bar and played some pool. Or snooker. Or something. They met some Australians and went to a different party with them. Oh, to be young.

Skiing, X-C 1:57:57 [3]

Another day skiing at Happy Jack. Today was not as nice as yesterday, but there were no winds, so it wasn't all bad. I had that shaky, sweaty feeling the whole time, like I needed something...maybe something sweet. It eventually went away towards the end, but it was annoying.

Then I packed up and headed home, sans Annie. A sadly short trip to Laramie, but Annie will have a nice 2 week vacation with Mikell, who promises not to lose her or break her. We'll see.
