Hiking 1:00:00 [2]

I took a weekend trip to NJ to visit my friend, Marnie. On Saturday, we went into the city and walked around for 9 hours! But I'm only recording 1 of them. We walked all around SoHo and then 3 hours going through the 9/11 Museum. What a spectacular job they did with this museum. It gets quite heavy after awhile, and I had to take a few breaks to compose myself, but it definitely brought back the meaning and feeling of 9/11 when sometimes that phrase becomes more of a cliche or a "brand". Such a horrible time in our country's history.

Week 2 #1

Yay for me! I got home from work, quickly fed Annie, got changed while she was eating, and then headed out. Didn't even think about it, just went into to automatic mode. I didn't stop to think: it's too dark - cold - late. I just got ready and went. And it *was* dark, but there were enough other people on the trail, and street lights at regular intervals, and cars passing in the street, that I never felt uneasy. I did go a little slower, though, because there were sections where I couldn't see very well and I got worried about falling. Maybe I need to wear my headlamp.

Week 1 #3

I thought today was going to be slower because the trail is now packed down slick snow. But, I guess not. :-)

My stomach was a little sour for the whole outing. I think holiday eating has not been kind to me, so now that everyone is gone, it's back on track for me.
