Cycling 1:00:00 [3] 12.4 mi (12.4 mph)

At my sister, Marit's, gym in Fairfax. The bike had no toe straps, and I was amazed at how much harder it was to keep up a good cadence. So, fewer miles done.

Note

It looks like I'll be taking a trip to Norway in the next week or so. My Tante Elin, the aunt I lived with the year I spent in Norway, has passed away. I credit her with getting me involved with orienteering. I went to Norway in June 1975 and 2 weeks after getting there, Elin told me I was going to an orienteering camp run by IL Tyrving. "Orienteering?? What's that?" Well, I fell in love with it at that camp and the rest is history.

This is Mom's last sibling, out of 5, and now it's just her. Too sad to think about.

Cycling 1:00:00 [3] 14.75 mi (14.8 mph)

A little faster today, maybe because I was better entertained. I was talking to Mikell, who is in SC for the holidays, and he was telling me how he was using his sister's HBO GO account to watch Game of Thrones. And that reminded me that I have HBO GO on my iPad, so I brought that to the gym and watched the next episode of the Olive Kitteridge series. What a fabulous way to pass what otherwise would have been a very boring time. I'm so happy I made that connection!

Mt. Biking 45:00 [3]

Hanging the last steamers for my street O event today and doing a ride-by of the ones I hung yesterday. I think I'm set.

Note

So, my event today went off without a hitch, and I think everyone had fun. Here's the map...a little elementary but it did the trick:
