Running 33:20 intensity: (6:00 @2) + (27:20 @3) 3.1 mi (10:45 / mi)

Well, the weather has certainly turned more fall-like over the past 2 days. It's been grey, cold, and rainy, and possible snow is in the forecast for tonight. I was hoping for a more gradual transition.

I took a loop around Wash Park before the more intense rain showers hit. I felt pretty strong, which is nice.

Note

I'm back home, and Mom is doing just great. She was walking just fine with the walker, and even cruising around the kitchen without it. The best news, though, is how often she commented on how fabulous it was not to have any more pain in her hip. She was practically giggling at times. I'm so happy that she had this done! She is already becoming one of those people who says, "I should have done it much earlier! I don't know why I waited so long."

Running 1:00:23 [3] 5.0 mi (12:05 / mi)

We had a huge storm pass through last night, taking out some traffic lights and tree limbs, but also wiping out almost all of the humidity and dropping temps by about 20 degrees. So, I decided to go for a little longer run over at Antietam Battlefield.

I started from the Burnside Bridge parking lot and headed out on First Attack trail. It's a spot on this trail where Mom and Don want to have their ashes scattered:

Then I turned on Snavely's Ford Trail and ran down to and along Antietam Creek. It was running pretty high, and it was very lush along the banks:

Once I got to the Georgians Overlook, which was essentially the end of the loop, I decided I still hadn't gone long enough, so I turned around and went back down to the creek and back up Snavely's Ford Trail.

I ended with a look at Burnside Bridge:
