Orienteering race 1:39:00 [3] *** 5.9 km (16:47 / km) +230m 14:03 / km

West Point Long Green Y. This was a fine day. Made a few tiny bobbles at a few controls; nothing major at all. I even tried some running in the beginning of the course, but paid for it later in the course. My knee got pretty swollen and getting down that last downhill was definitely painful.

I was very happy with my navigation this weekend, and even a little happy with my ability to move. Even though my knee was swollen after yesterday, some ice and Aleve did wonders, and I woke up this morning with no swelling and relatively pain-free. And the fact that I could do some running today made me happy. And when I say running, I really mean "not walking." So, more like faster shuffling. I iced my knee when I got back in and took some Aleve, and it feels pretty okay tonight. Just the first few steps after getting up from sitting are a little difficult. There just might be a brighter future ahead of me than I had previously thought.

Orienteering race 56:20 [3] *** 3.5 km (16:06 / km) +140m 13:25 / km

West Point Middle Green Y. This was a pretty straight-forward course. I fast-walked the entire thing until #13, at which point I "ran" to 14 and in to the finish. Other than being suckered into checking out another control on my way to #1...the whole time telling myself, "That is *not* your control. You *know* it's not your control. Why do you keep moving towards it??!!?"...I went straight to each control. A few of them I saw from quite far away, and it was very frustrating stumbling my way over all of the rocks and downed trees, trying to get to the control quickly.

It pretty much sucks to be injured.
