Snowshoeing 1:43:00 intensity: (1:00:00 @2) + (43:00 @3) 4.08 mi (25:15 / mi)

About the same distance as yesterday, but on a hillier route. Headed out of Tie City and then hung a left, following various trails down the hillside to the Pole Creek Campground and back. The "and back" part was the toughest. Everything seems to be holding together just fine.

And the weather today was spectacular. In the upper 30s with full sunshine. There was a lot of melting going on in town.

Snowshoeing 1:33:00 [2] 4.0 mi (23:15 / mi)

Yay, my first entry in a long while. I went for a wonderful snowshoe trip today in Laramie Range. It was a beautiful day, bright sunshine and blue skies. I started in Tie City campground, through the woods to the Headquarters Trail, and out the HQ Trail for a bit before I turned around. I started out using poles, but decided about 1/3 of the way through that I preferred no poles, so I just carried them. I also learned that I kick up a fair amount of snow when I'm walking, so my backside started getting cold after a bit. I experimented with different strides, but they all seemed to still involve a lot of snow movement. I'll have to work on that. The good news is I only fell once, and my knee only started to ache a little at the very end. I'll see what it feels like tomorrow.
