Strength Training 40:00 [3]

After a nice day trip to visit the booming metropolis of Bosler, WY, and to see the only house in the US...and most probably the world...made out of dinosaur bones, I headed over to the Laramie Rec Center to lift some weights. And it turned out to be the perfect day to go there because it was Free Day!

Note

A scenic stop along our trip:

Cycling 45:00 [2]

After a yummy breakfast of oatmeal (cooked), I rode into town to drop off some letters at the Post Office and a book at the library. I rode through campus to take a look at the recent additions and tear downs. A short trip down Frat Row was also enjoyable. ;-)

Orienteering 1:06:00 [3] 5.2 km (12:42 / km)

Went out to Pelican Bay to run some of the controls from the Rocky Mt. Goat. The marshes were marshier than I thought, and I ended up having my shoe almost sucked off when I was knee-deep in mucky muck. And the run to #4, across the open area, was especially invigorating with the chilly Laramie winds whipping across the plains.

Mt. Biking 1:06:00 [3]

My first real mountain bike ride in over a year. It felt great to be out again. And the weather could not have been more spectacular. Shorts and a t-shirt in laramie in october. unbelievable! And no falls.

Orienteering race 1:06:00 [3] 4.5 km (14:40 / km)

I'm in Virginia for the weekend, so went with Mom and my sister, Marit, to the QOC event at Avalon. I ran Brown because we had to leave a little early and Brown was 4.5k and Green was 6.5k. I didn't want them to have to wait for me.

The course was fun only because it was mostly a trail run, and that's just about what I was up for today.
