Note
I went back to my knee doctor today and got a most excellent report. I've increased my knee bendability by 20 degrees since a month ago. He still wants me to wear the dynamic brace another month because I'm at 115 degrees now and he wants me to get to 130. And if I can't get there by the brace alone, there is some minor discussion about going back in, via arthroscopic surgery, to clean out some scar tissue that might be restricting my bending. Hopefully, it won't come to that.
This doctor is very good. He was saying today that the graft has to take hold where it enters the bone, but it also has to regenerate blood flow through the reconstructed ACL (basically dead patellar tendon) and then reconstruct the nerves through it, too. Once that happens, around 7 months, he wants me back in PT to do spatial exercises (on the balance board, etc.) so my brain can reconnect with the movement of my knee so it won't go too far at any point and re-tear. That all sounded pretty smart to me!
