PT 45:00 [1]

Another torture session. I was crying a little again. It turns out I walk much better when I'm using hiking poles. They make me walk more normally. Evidently the therapists at this place are aghast at how I walk; they think I forgot how to walk. So the hiking poles help normalize that. Yesterday, I could straighten my leg to 9 (it's supposed to be 0) and today it was 5. Yesterday, I could bend my leg to 65 and today it was 95. So, I am improving.

Note

Time for another update. I am in New Jersey, arrived last Tuesday, moved in on Wednesday, unpacked Thursday through....forever. I am drowning in packing paper and flattened boxes, but I'm making progress. My commute to work is 11 minutes versus at least 90 minutes back in Virginia. It might be 13 minutes if I catch the one traffic light when it's red.

I love, love, love my new house. It's on a hill, so the back of the house is at treetop level so it feels like I'm living in a treehouse. The sun sets on the back of the house, so in the evening, I've taken to sitting on my nice, quiet deck, overlooking the woods, drinking a beer, contemplating life. It's wonderful.

Morristown is a great town. So much diversity, so many good restaurants, great bagels and pizza. And the farmer's market is to die for. Hmmm...that was a lot of food talk. Well, once I get running again, there are some O maps within running distance and some mountain bike trails.

My first PT session tonight was brutal. My therapist, Lisa, basically sat on my leg to see how straight I could get it. I was crying in pain and she was saying it wasn't straight enough. We're going to get along great! She also hooked my knee up to an electro-stimulating(?) machine. It was a little tingly, alot tingly, and then very painful. And then a rest time. And then it started all over, for 10 minutes. I have a feeling I'm going to get a lot better very quickly.
