Another session of hill repeats. This felt a little harder than last time, but still not too bad. Maybe I need to add more repeats next time.

Running 36:37 [3] 3.0 mi (12:12 / mi)
shoes: Salomon

I was getting of the Hood loop, so I rolled out of bed this morning and 20 minutes later, I was on the trail in PWF. It was a damp, raw, grey morning, but it felt good to be outside. Some of the trails were like little creeks since it had rained all night, but I was still on track to have a fast time. Until, I neared the end and saw that no one had collected the streamers to the start from the PWF meet, so I got those, which slowed me down somewhat. Oh well, it was still a good way to start the day.

Strength Training 40:00 [2]

Uh-oh, two workouts in one day. What is going on here??

Note

My first lawn mowing of the season. Luckily, the mower and weed whacker started right up. I also did a fair amount of weed pulling and pruning of some dead branches that didn't make it back in the spring. And then, off to my sister's for a fantastic Easter dinner.

After realizing that most of the women I compete against had stepped up their training, I decided that it was time that I started mine, so I incorporated some hill work into my run today. I planned on doing 6 repeats, but didn't think I would make it for all 6. I did make it. Yay for me!

Running (Trail) 45:00 [3] 4.5 mi (10:00 / mi)
shoes: Salomon

I brought Graham down to NC today so he could spend his Spring break with his dad. I also drove home late last night from NJ, so I've seen a good bit of I-95 over the past few days.

I had done some Googling before I left, and found Medoc Mountain State Park, which looked like a good place to get in a run on my way home. And it was! Other than the fact that there had been a prescribed burn there today, so some of the woods were still smoking and the air right at the beginning of the trail was a little hazy. It brought back memories of Lake Sebago.

I ran the Bear Swamp Trail, around the Summit Trail, and back. These were beautiful woods, with nice pine needle covered trails and a section along the river that was really scenic. The bit up to the "summit" was steep, but short. Evidently, Medoc Mountain isn't really a mountain, but rather a long ridge. Whatever it is, it was a nice place to stop.
