Running 30:00 [3] 3.1 mi (9:41 / mi)

I ran my Hood loop for the first time in months. It was raining and chilly, but I felt great. My legs felt good, I was breathing well, I was mentally happy. All in all, a great way to start the day.

Orienteering 20:00 [2]

Setting out the last few controls and the water controls. I helped Valerie hang a control that was, according to the map, supposed to be hung right where a cabin was now standing. That would not make the park officials happy, so I moved it down the road just a tad to the *next* road/trail junction, within plain sight of the intended site. No one complained, so I guess it worked.

I was only going to stay a little bit at the meet since I still had a good amount of work to do (for my job), but I ended up staying until the very end. Valerie and I were the last to leave, which is beginning to be the norm! It was a very pleasant day, with some time spent at the start table and the rest helping Valerie. The weather was incredible, as was the company, so it was difficult to pull myself away.

Thanks to Dave Pruden, Dan Quinn, Nadim Ahmed, Van Anthony, and Yulia for picking up controls. Especially Dave, whom I had to strong arm into sticking around for control pickup. And that was even after I convinced him to be the course setter for Meadowood in December. I bet he wishes he had never come to the meet today!
