Cycling (Trainer) 1:00:00 [2]

I was going to try to get outside for my ride, but a full day at work and then some evening baking put an end to that thought. So I rode the trainer instead, hopping off about mid-ride to take the julekake out of the oven. It smelled just like Jul i Norge.

Note

The highlight of today was when I was Skyped by Caitlin. I put her on the plane yesterday for Switzerland and was so anxious to hear how everything went. And then, while I was working at my desk today, my computer started ringing and it was her! That was so cool. She's safely in Lugano, a little overwhelmed and very exhausted.

Since I seemed to have brought the Laramie weather home with me, I stayed inside and rode on the trainer for a bit. My cold is getting better, with much less sneezing today.

Now it's not only cold outside, but I have a cold. A bad cold, so no activity for me today. Just resting on the couch, reading "Atonement" and being tenderly cared for. So fine.

Cycling 50:00 [2]

Today was supposed to be a nice day with slightly warmer temps. We had even thought about driving over to the Snowies for some skiing. But, reality turned into a blizzard. After some morning sunshine, it clouded over, started snowing, and then the winds began to howl. I decided early on that I wouldn't go skiing, but Mikell still held out hope. Eventually that was dashed when the highway was shut down. I opted for another trip to the Laramie Rec center. I logged some time on the stationary bike, and then ventured into the pool for the first time in over a year. It didn't feel like it had been that long, so that was good. My knee actually feels fine after the non-running of the past week.
