I went for an early morning ride on the beach road before heading home. It was an out and back ride, and I was at the turnaround point, when I heard a loud pop and slow hiss of air. Rats...my first flat in a long time. I was able to change it pretty quickly and was surprised that none of the passing riders offered to help. Not that I needed it, but it would have been a nice gesture.
Then, Tanner and I drove to Bethesda for a doctor appt. and a trip to Bethesda Bagel...yum. I was heading out to River Road when I heard a loud pop and a slow hiss of air. Rats...my first flat in a long time. I was *not* able to change it pretty quickly! I limped into a nearby service station where they found that two of my tires were going flat and that each had 3-4 nails in them. In the words of the mechanic, "It looks like you drove through a mine field."
Long story short, 4 tires and an alignment later (it turns out all of my tires needed replacing, which I knew but was trying to ignore for now), Tanner and I were back on the road. Got home 7 hours after we left the beach.
